30 Days

Found these images on a site called Nico and...Magazine. From what I could tell it looked like a Japanese clothing shop and magazine, but I don't speak Japanese so I could be wrong on that one. But I did really like this section they do each month where they created 30 different outfits for each day. It's called "30 Days Coordinate". Some of their creations were really inspiring and I thought I'd relay some of my favorites here.

Check out the other days and the website here.

As a follow up to my last post I thought I'd continue my Jade Castrinos obsession with more her outfit photos. Cool style and an even better smile. Such a cute and lovely person.

S T R E E T S M A R T : Fisherman Sweaters

Fisherman sweaters (also known as the Aran Sweater, or Irish Sweater) have always been a favorite of mine. Their quality, chunkiness and warmth factor can't be beat for the winter months. I've put several on the shop this past October, and not surprisingly, they have all sold. Luckily, I came across two more recently. One in classic Irish form, the other made in Italy and slightly different. Sometimes it's a bit difficult to find one in the right size (they usually come large), but finding one is like finding Moby Dick, and once you've found it you better grab it before it disappears forever.

I have yet to find my perfect fit aran sweater... but one day...

S T R E E T S M A R T : Plaids and Pleats

It's a universal agreement that white cotton dresses are for summer, and flannel plaid is for winter. Anytime the weather gets colder, I dream of preppy plaid patterns, layers and hats and scarves. I came across not one but two plaid wool skirts the other day and it's been too warm to even think about them until now.

Plaid skirts remind me of old fashioned 'matronly' sort of women (in a good way!)... and matronly reminds me of Ulyana Sergeenko, the prima donna of matronly. She owns the mid to full length skirt territory, and turns frumpy into очень cute.

Since Ulyana's rise on the internet fashion scene, I have been unwittingly searching for mid to full length skirts, and lucky for me plaid ones are the perfect kind, plus they are usually made very well. The two I found were both pleated which adds to the volume factor, especially when walking. I like wearing them with a fitted shirt, ankle boots and a scarf, but really anything will do.
