F A S H I O N F A V O R I T E S: Spring 2015

It's officially fall, so what better time to start talking about spring! Spring fashion week, that is. Yes, the latest from New York, London, Milan and Paris are coming in and that means that I spend a significant amount of time in my robe looking at all the pretty clothes from the season. Nevermind that I haven't bathed and look like hell. If I am looking at high fashion that means I AM high fashion, right?!?
Here are some of my personal favorites from this season...

Band of Outsiders

Band of Outsiders usually wins this category for me. Some how, Band of Outsiders takes normal (or even boring) pieces, and pairs them in such a way to make them fresh and unique. Plus, that crazy hat? Only Band of Outsiders could make me want to wear a hat like that.

The brighter the better. Plus, I'm a sucker for tie dye.

Tomas Maier

I am not too familiar with this designer, but I really liked the use of print (and color) in this collection. I love bold prints, but there is something to be said with subtle prints. It takes a real talent to use a subtle print and make it stand out, OR make a bold print subtle. I can't tell which technique Tomas Maier is doing, but I like.

Steven Alan

Once again, Steven Alan takes the throne for basics. He just. knows. basics.

Elizabeth & James

I love when a collection is styled so perfectly, that you just want to wear it for every occasion... on the other hand, there are collections that make me want to mix and match. Elizabeth and James definitely won me over this season with their separates. Everything is so perfect on it's own, you can't lose.

So casual, so polished, and most importantly, so comfy. Perfect street wear.

Erin Fetherston

I've always been a fan of Erin Fetherston, her collections always have a very cool and feminine vibe. Normally, I don't pair those two adjectives together, but Erin Fetherston makes it work somehow.

Ulla Johnson

Here is a collection with wools, cottons, linens, and leather.. I just want to reach out and touch, which is why I am thankful I'm at my house instead of making a scene at the actual show.

Michael Kors

Michael Kors is ALWAYS reminding me of vintage silhouettes, but is so good at making them fresh and current. Not to mention his use of layers. So good.

Gareth Pugh

Weird but wearable.

Wayne's collection almost took my "favorite overall" category. ALMOST. I love everything about this collection, but especially the silhouettes. No words.

S E A R C H I N G F O R: The Poncho (Get Covered for Fall)

The weather is cooling down (at least in most places on the northern hemisphere), and I am so looking forward to winter. But, one thing about winter that I always seem to forget is how unmotivated I am to look remotely good. If it's cold outside, then that means it's cold in my house, which ultimately means that I go straight from my bed to the warmest clothes I have as quickly as possible, which usually consists of pants, a pair of boots and a coat. It's boring every time, and by the end of the season I want to burn my coat, never to see it again. I want to mix it up, but with what?? Solution: the poncho/cape.

If you don't get why you would wear a poncho, then you've never worn one before. A poncho embodies all the things you need in the winter.
Cold? It keeps you nice and warm.
Feeling lazy? Just put on some skinny jeans and some boots and throw that poncho right on top.
Bloated after than holiday meal? Don't worry, the poncho conveniently covers that food baby.
What's not to love
The best part is, a poncho is essentially a blanket. And don't tell me that you've never sat in bed on a cold winters day wishing that you could wear your comforter to work....because now you can!

But if you are still skeptical, here are some examples of poncho chic ladies...

Recently, I came across a large collection of ponchos and capes, and each one has it's own unique personality. Who knew a poncho could say so much. Lots of ponchos have been listed up on the shop already, but there are a few more to come. Here's a preview:
